Wario Land: Shake It! Impressions

“I just got it today and after just the first hour of play, color me impressed. This is one of those titles where hype is not a bad thing. After the intro that we have all seen, Wario goes into the first level, serving as a tutorial of sorts. You meet up with Captain Maple Syrup and you start on your journey. The tutorial, which is a pirate ship, plays eerily like the first level of Wario Land 4. The mechanic is similar to 4 in the sense that you have a time limit to get back to the start as fast as you can after capturing one of Queen Melful’s citizens from danger. After this first level, a shop opened up where you can buy potions, level up items, and maps to access new levels. There is also a sound test. The game looks absolutely beautiful, and no screenshots do it any justice. Don’t hesitate to pick this one when it hits the states.”
