DSvision Launches in Japan
07.02.08
There are so many reasons why I sometimes wish I lived in Japan. This DSvision service launched in Japan on July 3rd at noon. Basically, you can buy movies, manga, or books on your computer, download them, transfer them to an SD card, and then watch them on your DS using an adapter. There are not a whole lot of choices yet, but I’m sure that will change.
When you buy the “game” for 3980 yen it comes with the usb card reader, the SD card, and the DS cartridge adapter. I watched a demo video, which I downloaded from their site before the service went live. Then I showed it to my son. He said, “Thanks a lot, Mom… That’s SO unfair. I’m gonna go back to my room now. There’s no way we’re ever gonna get something that cool.” You never know, though. If it turns out to be a popular thing, some company may decide to do something similar here.
