Saku Saku Animal Panic WiiWare Impressions
03.25.08
The only US made WiiWare Japanese launch title is actually one of the few that is fun says Wired.
Thus far, it’s not as much of a puzzle game as it is about quick reflexes and planning. Since the animals move around randomly, you’ve got to move quickly and fence them in while they’re still mostly gathered in the same places. You don’t need to create just one pen for each type of animal — they can be scattered in different pens, just as long as there’s only one animal type in each.
Presents will randomly drop from the sky — the one I got first was food for the animals, which will attract some but not all animals over to it, to better separate them out.
After each level, you’re ranked on how much time you took, how many lives you lost, how much fence you built, etc., and given a score. After five levels on the farm, our humble farmer takes off for what looks like Australia, where he’s penning in more exotic animals with wire fences. Clever.
I’ve got to play this one a bit more, I think, as it was pretty fun from my few minutes of experimentation. I’d say this is a lock for a U.S. release in May.
