Everyone except for major hits lose money and here is why:

Back in 1982, the Japanese company Namco produced Pacman for $100,000. Now, the average Playstation 3 title is estimated to cost $15m.

“It is not unlikely that after Christmas, we may find there are some casualties,” says EGDF chairman Fred Hasson.

    Bit hard to compare pacman
    and the latest games that are graphics
    and animation before real game play.

    If game developers really HONESTLY
    wanted to earn more from producing games
    * produce a bug free games like those pre 2000
    * STOP RELEASING CRAP GAMES
    * FIND DECENT Publishers that dont ruin the game
    * Release the game WORLD wide at the
    SAME TIME for the SAME COST
    * MAKE THE GAME CHEAPER
    * Dont add disc protection
    all disc protection gets cracked
    in the end , more added cost to the game
    * more games on the PC and PS2/Xbox1
    instead of the overpriced Xbox360/PS3

    It is hypocritical to think that one would know better than the economists employed at the game development companies. They make a living out of finding the best ways of making money from computer games.

    But hey, if you think you really are smarter than them, start your own gamedev company that employs you principles.
