10. Kane & Lynch: Dead Men 64% Average

An unrelenting ugly parade of death and loss and regret. With bad controls. OPM UK

blacksite_area_51_ps3boxart_160w.jpg9. BlackSite: Area 51 63% Average
Just like every other run-of-the-mill FPS out there. You can find better multiplayer in Resistance, you can find a better storyline in The Orange Box, and you can find a livelier environment in just about anything. The game underperforms in every aspect. IGN

8. Clive Barker’s Jericho 61% Average
The thread holding Jericho above that pit of legendary awfulness is thin and fraying. Mr. Barker, you’re better than this. 1Up

7. Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground 58% Average

Extremely shoddy controls mean that you’ll likely be throwing your Wii Remote and Nunchuck around the room and ejecting the disc before you even come close to getting your money’s worth. IGN

6. Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War 58% Average

With all these hiccups, I’m shocked this war lasted one year, let alone 100. EGM

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End 58% Average

A terrible waste of a potentially great franchise.  Planet XBOX 360

4. Dawn of Mana 57% Average

It may look like a dream, but it’s a nightmare to play. DEN

3. Viva Pinata: Party Animals 55% Average

For a fun party game – even one aimed at kids, who let’s face it are just witless dwarves who’d be impressed by a cardboard box if it had a picture of a monkey on a skateboard on it – Viva Piñata is horribly oversimplistic, repetitive and just plain lacking in oomph. Gamers Europe

2. Pokemon Battle Revolution 55% Average

The single player mode is a joke, there’s a huge lack of true customization or depth, and the multiplayer mode – while certainly appealing to core gamers – offers very little beyond what DS had. IGN

  1. A much much better list. I am curious as to how Two Worlds is considered big budget though?

  2. UPDATE: Two Worlds has been removed due to further research into its budget. Lair now takes the crown.

  3. if LAIR was screwed up because of the controls, why dont they patch the game to, i dunno…. change the controls?

  4. I’m surprised Hellgate: London isn’t up there.

  5. I love Hellgate: London. Seriously.

  6. Yeah, a game shouldn’t make me want to uninstall it within the first 0 to 5 minutes.

  7. Profit: They are not changing the controls because they work… It’s very sad it got such bad reviews. At least, more and more people are discovering it since it’s still selling regularly… Slooowly, but regurlarly.

  8. Hellgate isnt that bad its actually pretty fun once you overlook the bugs.

  9. I don’t think Kane & Lynch was that bad. The game looked great at times ..the only problem I had with it was the sound effects. They sound like someone took the sound crew and threw them in a kitchen and said “Gimmie some gun explosion effects from these pots and pans”

Other than that I thought it was a cool game!

  10. I like Lair, and I like its controls. Sixaxis controls are really fun. I’m happy to let the dragon pick its own damn targets.

  11. How about you get a PC and get on with some real gaming. Console games for the most part are being made for the “casual gamer” so you will get a lot of pretty crud.

  12. I enjoyed Lair a lot (actually more than Heavenly Sword). The controls are OK, compared to R&C it has great feel (flying around). I think it is a matter of taste – if you get over the 6axis controller, you would enjoy the game, though it can be really hectic at times.

  13. viva pinataparty animals would of cost peanuts to make

  14. Have only played Jericho (PC)and it wasn’t “bad”, but it wasn’t good enough to inspire me to play it more than a couple times, yet not bad enough to demand an uninstall.

Hellgate keeps getting bad press, I like it and honestly don’t even see any of the “bugs” people say are there. There are some design flaws and missing things but it’s a young game. Wow, the current juggernaut was very similar when it was first released.

  15. idk what people are saying, kane and lynch was a very good game and everybody i know thats played it said the same thing. and how come two worlds want on the list? that had to be the worst game of the year!

  16. Lair is a wonderful game. Like others have mentioned, it’s a shame that someone with a PS3 cannot figure out the simplistic motion-based controls in 5 mins. Can you say “all thumbs”??

STOCKY you have to be kidding.
Aside from WOW and Crysis, you got nothing for the last three years, let alone all the good games you have eventually come to a console in some shape or form, IE, The Orange Box.

You can have S.t.a.l.k.e.r., I don’t want to play a game where a point blank shotty won’t kill a mutant, but a AK-47 will drop in with two bullets from 50 yards away.
I see PC games as the most glitchy, the ones that they get right are great, but you also shell out a lot more cash for graphics, and mot much else.
Like BMWs they are nice until you crash and die.
