He said that the company was “looking at moving some advertising on some products into early 2008” because it wants to “act responsibly”.

According to Times Online Nintendo is removing Wii TV ads in the UK and replacing them with DS ads in order to contain the Wii shortage problem there.

They also report that Nintendo has upped their 2007 estimates to 17.5 million.

Nintendo has raised production targets several times in recent months and now plans to ship 17.5 million units globally this year, up from 14 million.

The rest of the article has quotes from ridiculous analysts that still think the Wii is a fad and not upping production will give a lot of leeway to the Playstation 3 but any sane person can see that the Wii is here to stay and dominate. Especially with Wii Fit hitting the English speaking world in early 2008, I predict Wii will do nothing but become more and more popular in the coming months.
