Square Enix has decided to take their Vermillion IP and turn it into a card based arcade game in the form of Lord of Vermillion. It costs about 0.30$ to play and each time you play you get a playing card to keep! Location tests start on December 7th, 2007 and a nation wide arcade release is scheduled for sometime in January 2008.

The incredible art on each of the playing cards has been painted by none other than Yoshitaka Amano, a man who has done artwork for every single Final Fantasy every released.

You can play through story mode or you can head online and battle opponents at arcades across Japan. Here’s hoping this comes to a console or PC soon after it’s arcade release.

This game looks pretty cool, but I guess we won’t see it in Europe though…sigh
I don’t think Amano did the artwork for FF Tactics..
